Is Your Caravan Upholstery Fit for 2018?
As we come to the end of a busy caravanning season, many of you will be cleaning your caravan ready for it shorts break over the winter months. Looking forward to spring, you may be wondering if now is the time to assess whether your caravan's upholstery is fit for 2018.
But how do you know when the upholstery needs more than 'just a good clean'?
The seating is not as comfy as it was…
A deep clean may lift some dirt and stains but it won't breathe new life into tired seat padding. If you notice that you have a bad case of 'numb bum' or you don't feel as comfy and supported as you normally do, it is not only time for new upholstery but new padding too.
There is a lingering odour…
Your caravan has travelled miles. You have towed it and pitched it in places all across the country and possibly Europe and beyond too. That is a lot of hours enjoying your caravan, including the cooking of many meals and so on.
All of this daily activity leads to wear and tear on the interior of your caravan and there is nothing worse than when you open up the door, you are greeted with the lingering smell of dinners and meals of the past.
Strong cooking aromas are great when you are on hols, but not when you are trying to banish them from your caravan's interior. It is more than likely the molecules of aroma are trapped in the fabric and furnishings, from the seating covers to the curtains, cushions and more. Sometimes, not even a deep clean can shift the smell and the answer is new caravan upholstery.
It is looking worn and tired…
And no surprise considering the use your caravan gets year on year. From holidays with the family to a weekend away, there have been many people enjoying your caravan and this means one thing: the interior can start to look a bit tired and worn.
From tears in the fabric to stains on the seating to missing cushions and tired old curtains, sun-bleached over the years, the time has come to invest in new upholstery so that your van is raring to go next year.
It needs updating…
When we are enjoying ourselves, we don't realise how time flies. Before you know it, years have passed since you first bought the van and you have travelled miles and stayed in some beautiful places.
But you don't keep the same furnishings and colour scheme at home, so why do you expect the interior furnishings of your caravan to last forever? Is it time it was updated?
But, it is affordable?
It depends on how much work and repair need completing, as well as your choice of fabrics but this is the important thing: your caravan interior will be ready for the coming 2018 season and it'll be like having a whole new caravan!
