Re-upholstery Material to Leather
If you have a material sofa or another piece of furniture that is showing its age, one of the considerations is what kind of material to replace it with. One of the most popular types of material is leather but can you re-upholstery material to leather?
It is possible to change a material sofa into a leather one, but it is definitely a job for experts. One of the first things we look at is the padding on the cushions. Typically these are different when a piece of furniture is made from leather versus material and when you want to switch from one to the other, there may be some need to add some padding or remove some.
Another consideration is the framework. There’s a reason leather furniture often has those decorative nails on them – because this keeps the material stretched and in place. So we need to assess the framework and see how the leather can be kept nice and tight on the frame.
As experts in reupholstery, we are best placed to assess your furniture and see if it is possible to switch from material to leather. And even if it isn’t, we can offer a range of materials to reupholster your furniture with and restore its looks.
