7 interior design trends - and why investing in upholstery for your Gourock home will see YOU trend-setting!
There is good news for those people who believe wholeheartedly in upholstery, as well as the 'mend and make do' mentality that many of us are now realising is to our financial advantage - 2015 promises to be another year in which interior design is based around classy luxury, serenity, creative recycling and versatility. So no need to ditch your favourite sofa, just re-upholster it…
But if Gourock upholstery customers really want to be on trend in 2015, what should they choose? What are the on-trend styles?
Mixing it up!
Mixing the old with the new, creating a fusion of styles that are comfortable and workable is just one of the trends we will see coming in in the new year. Your lines need to be curved and accent colours stunning, something that Gourock customers can achieve with upholstery.
Bringing in natural elements
Trends come and go, and it seems that bringing back wood is the way to go in 2015; all metal or all plastic objects and items are not such a big part of these interior design schemes but mixing metals with the wood, and lashings of upholstery. Again, keep the natural elements and influence flowing through this too; opt for exotic patterns and bright accents.
The 2015 colours look like it will be rich blues with pinks, grey tones, leafy greens and cooler shades of brown, teamed with mustard yellows and mauves. Think pastel but with a deep richness to the tone.
Floral patterns are staying
But they are nigger, brighter and fetching the outside in; 2015 patterns are all about re-invigorating a space, with wide open place spaces sectioned in to zones. The influence, designers tell us, is Scandinavian. Think house plants and flowers to alongside your new upholstery in your Gourock pad.
But the floral wallpaper and flowery fabrics are not everyone's cup-of-tea and so you can still go retro; think back and white, dramatic darker walls with contrasting, but deep coloured upholstery. Avoid neon and too bright colours though…
Re-use and re-cycle
It is not going away and we are pleased it isn't! Re-covering sofas and other items in a choice of one fabric from potentially thousands on the market is the way to go; there is an upholstery fabric that will suit your Gourock home or business, regardless of the style you opt for.
We are, increasingly, using our homes differently; they are not just places we come home to at the end of a day's work… many of us are working in our homes too. Families are demanding so much from their homes and interior design, for 2015, is starting to celebrate this diversity.
What would you choose?
